The aim of the CTPAT Program is to instill strong supply chain security practices throughout the company and its partners. Your validation should reflect this as well.

A strong CTPAT program depends on more than one person; it works best when the whole company is aligned, especially leadership.
That’s why one of the first steps in validation prep is making sure your leadership team is aware, engaged, and ready to support the process.
As soon as you know a validation is coming, loop in upper management and let them know of any support you may need. Getting buy-in early can make everything smoother down the line.
It’s also a good idea to brief executives and key personnel to bring CTPAT back to the forefront across your organization (and even with key business partners).
Your briefing should:
1. Give a quick refresher on CTPAT.
Cover what the program is and why it matters to your company.
2. Explain the validation process.
Help stakeholders understand what to expect and why the validation is important.
3. Outline what’s needed to prepare.
Be clear about the support, time, and resources required to successfully complete the validation.
Getting everyone aligned early can make the entire validation process smoother and set you up for success!
