CT Strategies recently had the privilege of meeting with delegates from the customs authorities of India, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam as part of a reverse trade mission hosted by the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) to support customs modernization in the Indo-Pacific region. The focus of the visit was on technologies, services, and best practices for modernizing customs systems and procedures to improve customs efficiency, risk management, and international trade facilitation.
In support of this objective, CT Strategies gave a presentation to the 15-member delegation on development comprehensive risk management frameworks that incorporate technologies and equipment, as well as policies and programs such as Authorized Economic Operator (AEO). It highlighted the importance of identifying the right solutions to fit the needs of the customs administration.
The presentation was led by Andrew Farrelly, CT Strategies’ CEO, and Shawn Beddows, Vice President, each of whom have worked to enhance customs risk management and trade facilitation during their careers in US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and have led capacity building projects for CT Strategies in this field, including recent projects in Colombia and Laos.
“We greatly appreciate the opportunity to meet with the delegates from India, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam and discuss innovative solutions to challenges faced by customs authorities worldwide. We look forward to continuing to support the development of policies and practices to improve global trade.”
– Andrew Farrelly, CEO of CT Strategies
