CT Strategies Selects 2023 Future Trade Leaders Fellowship Recipients

 

In July 2022, CT Strategies launched the Future Trade Leaders Fellowship (FTLF). The Fellowship aims to support the education and professional development of undergraduate women with financial need who are passionate about international trade and other customs-related areas.  

We are very thankful to all those who applied, and continue encourage them all in their future careers as they advance diversity and equity in the field of international trade.

We are honored to announce Leslie Hernandez, and Miriam Kayongo as the selected recipients for the 2022-2023 Future Trade Leader Fellowship. 

CTS Future Trade Leader Fellowship 2022-2023 Recipient Miriam Kayongo

Miriam Kayongo is a graduating Senior Supply Chain Management at Howard University from Puyallup Washington. As a first generation Ugandan American Miriam grew up working long hours in warehouses during her summers where her introduction to Supply Chain and logistics began, but it did not stop there. Upon arriving to Howard University Miriam has held internships at The Resource Group on their Deployment Team and at Apple on their Supply Demand Management Central Innovation Team. Through these internships and course materials she was able to expand her knowledge on the different sectors of Supply Chain that ultimately encouraged her to pursue a career in the field.

CTS Future Trade Leader Fellowship 2022-2023 Recipient Leslie Hernandez

Leslie Hernandez is a multi-passionate servant leader and long-life student committed to creating a better future for the next generation and inclusively-lead a multi-generational community of social innovators to work together towards a common goal. With an educational background in economics and international business from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley she has been recognized as a trailblazer for her participation in the Bridge Venture Fellowship Program, and The Bill Archer Fellowship Program, representing the Latino community, the Rio Grande Valley, and UTRGV.

As Future Trade Leaders Fellowship recipients, Leslie and Miriam have been awarded $8,000 toward continuing education, they will have access to mentorship from accomplished women in the field, and will be interning at CT Strategies during the Summer of 2023. 

We will begin accepting applications for the 2023 – 2024 FTLF in May 2023. Find details here.
