Anti-counterfeiting Efforts in Vietnam

On July 16, 2022, Mr. Thoang Tran, Senior Advisor to CT Strategies (CTS) in Vietnam, attended and gave a presentation at the opening ceremony of the first Anti-Counterfeiting and Trademark Protection Consulting Center (PCCP) of Vietnam in Binh Duong province.

The delegates were invited to the event from the Central Economic Committee, National Assembly, Ministries, Scientists, and Experts. More than one hundred enterprises from Ho Chi Minh City and nearby provinces attended.

At the ceremony, Mr. Thoang Tran shared information about the harm of global counterfeit consumer goods as well as solutions based on the experiences of US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in addressing the problem of counterfeit consumer goods and commercial fraud in the United States and globally.

In addition, he introduced the CTS’ capabilities to enhance the anti-counterfeiting efforts of Vietnam Government employees and enterprises through capacity-building programs as well as recommended anti-counterfeiting technology applications to Vietnamese companies.

The CTS team includes anti-counterfeiting enforcement experts with extensive international experience that are able to assist in enhancing border measures to help protect intellectual property rights (IPR). CTS looks forward to additional opportunities to share its expertise with the Government of Vietnam as well as manufacturers and import-export companies to help them obtain useful knowledge to protect their products and trademark effectively.
