Revolutionary Container Terminal Strategy Driven by Public-Private Partnership

A private logistics firm is partnering with private port operators and port-host governments to pursue an initiative that could revolutionize intermodal container terminal operations.  The initiative would integrate modes of cargo transport by unloading containers from ships at the seaport directly onto two different train lines.  One train would travel underground through empty sewage networks while the other train would travel, by conventional means, to a truck terminal.

This initiative is a strong example of public-private partnership and multi-modal industries co-creating an innovative trade facilitation strategy.
